Best Program in New York City!

TheatreG, as someone else pointed out, Tisch is NYU. Also, the tuition is significantly more than $35,000. For the coming year, it will be $21,706 per term, so double that for the year, plus $1131 registration fee per term, service fees $850. This is only tuition. Housing at the dorm my D lived at freshman year is now $14492/yr. The required mealplan is an additional $3860/yr. So you are well into the $60,000s for Tisch before you even consider spending $, transportation to and from NYC, plus transportation for getting around in the city, incidentals, seeing shows, etc. It’s a very expensive school and my guess is that there are others on your list that may be close to those figures, too. Carnegie Mellon was more expensive than Tisch back when my D was a student.

Important things to consider when compiling your list. I’ve seen too many students work so hard to apply and audition at schools, be thrilled to get accepted, and then realize that there is no way they or their families can afford the costs. Keep reading and learning about the various programs. If you’d like to email me about the process, feel free to do so. You can click on my username and the dropdown menu will allow you to click on an email button. There aren’t too many Canadian students here on CC who are interested in theatre but having been through the process with my D, and having many actor friends and family members in the business, on both sides of the border, I can give you another perspective, and would be happy to help.
