interesteddad: True, they are completely different experiences, but they can still be compared to one another.
It was just my opinion :)

Wondering why no one mentioned Muhlenberg? I know it is no Swarthmore, but shouldn’t it at least outrank St. Joe’s, in terms of selectiveness and range of majors? I have only seen the website–is there something I am not considering? Thanks!

mallory, you stole my post! I searched the entire first page to see if there was any mention of Muhlenberg. Nice small school, certainly worth a mention. Also Moravian - nice small school if not a “top” school. Lots of good schools in PA!

and Susquehanna, listed under “larger privates” total student body < 2000 ! We just visited. It “feels” bigger, but is pretty small.

NJres:

I listed Susquehanna under larger privates due to a combination of their University status and their dramatic increase in growth during the past few years. It is a very up and coming school and I envision it to continue to grow during the next 5-10 years.

mallory & NJres:

Sorry, I did miss Muhlenberg College. It is a pretty small school in Allentown and I personally only know one person that went there to my knowledge, and they actually have more students from NJ than PA…It is a half decent school from what I know, but don’t know that much about it besides what I got off of their website.

While I’m at it…I also forgot to mention Lebanon Valley College, a lot of kids from Central PA choose to go there as well…
