<p>^I was responding to the person who suggested he spend 1 year at a community college before he chooses what yto do - he would be a transfer if he applies after CC, not a freshman. But before I responded there were some answers posted… so it didn’t look like I was responding to the right comment… Anyway:
If they apply from high school they are treated as freshmen with advanced standing, absolutely, if they apply from community college they are treated as transfers. CC students with a high GPA get a full tuition waiver, which sounds great… until one realizes in MA fees are higher ($860 tuition, $5,500 fees, per semester!). In addition, they can get up to $5,000 but only a few do (total tuition&fees=$13,000; room&board =$12,000)
