My D is almost vegetarian. Food safety is not a big concern. Vegetables take a little longer to go bad.
If your daughter is “almost vegetarian”, I’d skip the slow cooker and go for something else, like the InstantPot… Veggies do not hold up well in a slow cooker, and they are much less nutritious that way. Slow cookers are great for meats in particular. My best friend gave me a really high quality pan that is perfect for making stir-fry dishes, and I use it a lot. Something like that may be a better choice!
I have had a few crockpots and broken them…my husband got me the Allclad slow cooker last year for Christmas. Ot sure is pretty , but it doesn’t perform better than the less expensive ones.
The only plus is that it isn’t ceramic so if you need to seer meat before putting on to cook, you don’t need any extra pans
