Asparagus. A little olive oil, parmesan and garlic. Air fry at 400 for 6-7 minutes (more or less, depends on your air fryer.) Perfection. Green beans similarly.
Zucchini cut into sticks, tossed in oil and seasoned and then put in air fryer basket are great. D loves brussel sprouts that are cut in half, tossed in oil and seasoned then air fried as well.
What I do most often: broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts (slice them thin, almost shredded). Any potato.
I reheated some leftover frozen French toast. Oh my it was as good as the day I made it.
Also this week I cooked frozen broccoli for my grandson. I just tossed some frozen florets in with no oil and cook them till they were warm. He loved it. Cooked frozen vegetarian Pattieās in the air fryer. They come out nice and crisp. I usually slice some red onion and also toss a Serrano pepper in. Itās an easy dinner.
My husband mentioned today getting a toaster oven /air fryer combo so we could have one less appliance.
We have a low end combo toaster oven / air fryer (about $40 at Walmart). It does an ok job on air fry setting for some things. Based on recent research, Iām not too keen on the larger pricier combo models.
Was thinking about trying this one (have coupons)⦠but we are hesitant to add another appliance even though we could make space for it (or other countertop items) in the pantry.
Thatās the one I have and I think others bought during an Amazon Prine days sale
I have that one too. Just got it and am using while the kitchen is being updated and appliances like cooktop and oven arenāt available. (No dishwasher either. Alas!)
Itās great for 1 person, might be on the small side for more than 1. It just barely fits a French bread pizza smooshed in diagonally. Too small to bake 2 potatoes at the same time or enough fries/onion rings for 2 people.
I can state with the utmost authority that the best use for an air fryer is to test the smoke alarms.
Hmmm did you over cook/fry? Never had an issue
Agree that the Dash is small but we are ok with it at this time. Can fit a couple baked potatoes in it or 3 pieces of Bare Chicken Breast pieces in it for sandwiches
Probably just my natural touch. Gets thoroughly scrubbed twice a day 7 days a week.
We have a basket type Gourmia air fryer which I got for $40 on sale at Costco. I was skeptical that such a cheap appliance would do anything helpful, but Iām genuinely impressed with what it does. Reheating pizza and anything that has a crust is a breeze, and the food comes out so much tastier than microwave reheated.
Here is how it looks:
Asparagus, tossed in a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Comes out great ā crispy with a little char. But time it so that youāll serve right away, or they will get a little soggy while waiting.
Brussels sprouts - tossed in olive oil, balsamic, salt and pepper, Could add a little chopped (uncooked) bacon or sub balsamic with honey.
Cherry tomatoes ā olive oil, salt and pepper. I put these on foil in the air fryer so we donāt lose too much of the juice.
I think pretty much any veg that is good roasted, sautƩed, or grilled would work in an air fryer.
I also roast small tomatoes in mine - yum, on the weekend and then spread on some good sourdough for brunch.
But I use these so the juice stays with the tomatoes!

Used these for a couple slices of bacon today too
For anybody considering teh Ninja 10-in-1, the new Costco flyer says it will go on sale $139.99 starting May 15 thru June 9.
I use a variation of this recipe; I use olive oil, Dijon mustard, dried rosemary and thyme, garlic powder, salt and pepper. You can use whatever you want. The best roasted potatoes ever.
We have the cheap Costco Gourmia air fryer. The instruction booklet has a recipe for bacon wrapped dates that is absolutely delicious.
I have that one. I do feel it is much more versatile than my previous basket air fryer. It also tilts up so takes up less counter space. But I need to use it more often rather than the oven, especially for things like chicken nuggets.
The kitchen is being remodeled where Iām living right now. No oven. No dishwasher. No cooktop or vent. I have a microwave and an air fryer. Made a bone-in pork chop for dinner with some microwaved frozen veggies. It made for a surprisingly delicious Motherās Day dinner.
I looked at that one at one time not wanting to give up too much valuable counter space for a toaster/air fryer combo - the height when lifted up was too high for my space with a cupboard above. It was a higher than I thought it would be. So unless your spot is free and clear Iād just do a quick measure before purchasing.
I love ours and just bought one (a brand Iād never heard of) for older s at his request. We roast/air fry veggies in it. Yum.
Not the most healthy but oh so delicious and a quick meal is I pick up ready made seasoned chicken wings from one of our local markets. A few minutes in the air fryer and they are perfectly crispy and nicely browned as H likes them. Like fresh out of the hot oven or fried!
