<p>^ A Campus tour guide isn’t a work-study job, but it is VERY competitive. They usually do the hiring in winter, and they actually do make you write an essay and go to an interview where they do role-playing situations on “how would you answer this question from a prospective student” and stuff like that. I didn’t apply, but my friend did and got rejected. According to his rejection email, only 10% of the applicants were hired. So it’s tough.</p>
<p>Oh, btw there are several different departments for tour guides. One is the admissions dept and another is some of the schools that hire their own tour guides, like the College (Ambassadors) and Viterbi (VSAs). Again, all are highly competitive to apply for.</p>
