Bill Clinton

…Or it could just be that no matter how Al Gore or Hillary tried to separate themselves from Bill Clinton, the association with Bill hurt their campaigns much more than expected.

It is indeed very plausible that the country has finally had enough of Bill Clinton and his old politics.

“Gore rejected the entire Clinton administration of peace and prosperity when he ran.”

I think Gore’s “rejection” had less to do with the upside of the Clinton presidency (peace and prosperity) and more to do with the public humiliation brought about by his apparent inability to keep his pants on in the Oval Office. The fact is, Americans are morbidly fascinated by the inappropriate sexual escapades of our leaders–be it stained blue dresses, foot-rubbing under bathroom stall doors, or soliciting prostitutes. Clinton’s frolics with Lewinsky and subsequent lie proved not only an embarrassment for the Democratic party at that time, but opened the door for the Republicans to claim the banner of “family values.” I’ll never forgive him for that.

Quote: “You got your guy. If he and the New Democratic Party lose the election in November, blame him and the party pooh-bahs. Has nothing to do with the Clintons.”

If that was directed at me, I’m not sure who my “guy” is. I do know that Hillary will not be our next President. So I guess I could live with either “guy” that wins.

My acceptance and support of either guy over Hillary has everything to do with the Clintons!

A personal decision whether to vote for Obama versus McCain would have nothing to do with the Clintons!
