Binghamton Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

I’ve seen some, but no one at my son’s school (NYC) has heard from them, including the valedictorian and salutatorian.

There’s been at least 1 or 2 batches of acceptances at our high school but some very strong (top) applicants haven’t heard yet

I applied end of October EA. Still have not heard anything, is that good or bad?

I havent either, its a bad sign

I don’t agree. Binghamton makes decisions based on region, school, major, etc. For context, NO ONE at my son’s NYC school has heard yet, including the valedictorian and salutatorian, and the school sends a bunch of kids every year to Bing.

@tjd Im hearing differently unless my son’s friend from Bronx HS wasn’t being truthful. Either way my son from a Queens’ school hasnt heard (SOM).

There has been a wave of acceptances at our high school (in different majors/schools) but tons of top applicants haven’t heard yet. I know kids who are at Binghamton now who heard last year in early January. While I’m certainly anxious, I think it’s still really early

It’s neither a good nor bad sign - it just means they haven’t finished processing your application yet. Until you actually hear, nothing has changed, and you shouldn’t overread into anything.

It’s important to note that with SUNY free application week, the number of applicants has risen significantly (BU > 50K last year), which takes the admissions team a significant amount of time to process. For the last several years EA decisions were rolling out right up to the 1/15 deadline.

My student recently graduated from SOM at Binghamton and was not notified about acceptance until the second week of January. It’s still early! Try not to worry.

S27 was notified of EA acceptance (Harpur CAS) on January 6, 2023. We are in Westchester, NY.

I was accepted OOS a few weeks ago for Biomedical Engineering. I applied on Oct 31.
Test optional, 4.6w GPA, 3.9 UW.
Lots of extracurriculars (including university affiliated research).
1 IB HL, 8 APs (4 5’s, 1 4, 3 yet to take).
Let me know if you guys have any questions - I know I’m asking the same on other forums! Good luck to everyone!

My daughter is saying there will be no more wave for this year, suny are in break now, that is the rumor spread in our NY public high school, so have to wait til January

Someone on Reddit posted a deferral last night and someone else called and spoke to someone in admissions yesterday. So admissions may be open even if the students are on break. I refuse to give up hope! :joy:

can you share the reddit thread I been trying to find them

In the reddit for BinghamtonUniversity, the thread called “Worried” has a post about a deferral last night, and the thread called “Decisions” has a post about someone who called admissions yesterday. Sorry I don’t know how to link them but they’re kind of near the top if you sort by “new”
