Binghamton or Penn State

if you would all realize that you are comparing apples and oranges, you would be much better off…it’s like comparing a mountain to a molehill;

for prospective students: these two schools should NOT be in the same thread…visit and come back to post…
Binghamton feels like a large private, except for class size in intro classes…it has a small school feel and may not be right for those who do not want that…zero school spirit (unless something has changed over 30 yrs), very limited greek, and although I had a great experience, I can definitely see why someone would want “complete” college life.

The kids I know at PSU have told me that it is huge…different strokes…some like that

Statistically, one must be very careful to compare anything on Naviance…I know for a fact that Penn State branch campuses are lumped together with University Park. and you have no idea about rigor…

That being said, I think the reason there is so much conflict on this site is the following: there are infinitely fewer spots for the sheer number of very, very accomplished kids from NY at Binghamton; this varies from decade to decade…it will definitely skew the stats…

Penn State, on the other hand, has nationally acclaimed programs, great sports, great greek AND MORE OPEN SPOTS!!..the real stat comparison, maybe, should be Shreyer’s HC and Binghamton, but you are still comparing very diff places…
check out incoming class size…you will see what I mean
