Biology/Biochemistry in RPI

Hi Metalhunter-

My daughter is not planning at this time for med school. She is ROTC- Navy and looking at a military career actually  BME-materials at RPI focuses on EXACTLY those things you mention- stem cell research, genetic engineering, etc. They have a huge research dept. Actually- that beautiful new Biomed building there at RPI has zero classes in it- it is 100% research and professor offices. It really is a great place to be for this.

She just declared the major- last month after spending the year deciding between ChemE and BME and taking general courses that would apply mostly to both. Yes- it is a difficult major. A lot of lab time in some of the classes. Visit the BME and website and it does a good job outlining each section of BME and the classes you need.
