Sorry, but the teacher should not be deciding “fit” for your daughter. She should be deciding. The teacher did her a big disservice. My D attends a well-regarded LAC which has a very high acceptance rate to med school. Bio is one of the most popular majors. Because LACs only have undergrads, it is easy to participate in research.
TAs do not teach at LACs, unlike at “top” research unis. The majority of faculty hold termatinal degrees. Classes are small, and profs know their students by name. If this is the kind of environment your daughter wants, she will have a hard time getting it at a big Uni, unitl junior year at least.
