Biology Majors at Davis

I have gotten into both UC Davis (as an undeclared life sciences major) and UC San Diego (as a human biology major). At the moment I am leaning towards Davis despite UCSD’s great reputation as a biology school because I was offered a regents scholarship at Davis. The main issues holding me back from sending in my intent to register are location (too close to home in the Bay Area for my liking) and the lack of a comparable major to SD’s human biology. What major, if any, is most comparable to SD’s human biology and how comparable are the two school’s biology programs in general? Would I have to take something like a physiology minor and graduate in more than 4 years?

look at major requirements for each major you are interested in for both the universities. a non-engineering biology major + a related minor would probably still fit in under 4 years if one were moderately studious in taking classes.

Check out the Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major at UC Davis.
There is also an Exercise Biology major. Both of these are similar and under the umbrella of the College of Biological Sciences.

UCD does have classes that are the same content as UCSD; and in the UC system, there is a way to design your own major.
