I am a senior at Parks (I’m also the one who responded to you post at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/saint-louis-university/845674-dorms.html</a>). Internship at all colleges are up to the students to get. No one is guaranteed an internship or co-op. However, Parks has a small staff dedicated to setting up career fairs multiple times a year, industry speakers about every other week, and they are available to help anyone with a resume or interview practice. A lot of my classmates have had internships at NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Electric , Air Force bases all over the country and the Pentagon. We have a long history at Parks and our alumni provide strong industry relations. We also have great industry support, whether it be in the St. Louis area, or in the U.S. and abroad. Take a look at the aerospace and mechanical newsletter on parks.slu.edu. Many of my fellow classmates are highlighted in it for their internship experiences. For more information on internships visit: [Internships & Co-Ops | SLU Parks College of Engineering, Aviation & Technology](http://parks.slu.edu/academic-services/internships-co-ops/).
Your other question was on the purpose of the BME program. There are actually a few BME programs available at Parks. They are BME General Degree Track, BME Grad Degree Preparation Track, BME Industry Track, and BME Pre-Med Track.
Hope this helps!
