"I think the attempt to classify substrata of humanity by age is a wasted effort as there’s far too much diversity. "

-Then, I suppose it is always our parents’ fault till we are in a box under the ground. I have a question though to people who are placing themselves in such a corner. Does it help you to sit in this conrner? It has never helped me and I am ancient by CC standards. The only thing that has helped me to improve my life at each step was to take personal responsibilities and act according to what seem to be appropriate. Thinking back when you are say 7 - 8 y o. Most already have certain set of activities at this age and they go to school (at least in this country). Again, most here would say that you cannot expect 7-8 y o to think about his/her priorities. Well, I strongly disagree with this. ALL OF THEM act according to their priorities and that will have a huge influence on their future.
At the same time, I also strongly believe that spoilng a kid is a great thing, it works much much better than any punishment. Yes, spoiling them rotten so far has produced extremely hard workers in my family, those who are up to ANY level of challenges, never gave up, follow thier dreams and achieve results. Why? Maybe because they always got what they wanted, I do not know, maybe not, but the fact remains and I am not talking about one kid, I am talking about generations. I want my kids to spoil their own and the one who did, got the same great results. I hope that another will follow when she has a chance.
