@YoHoYoHo …thanks…I will post what Burgett says after my consultation. Your comments provide much comfort!
Well shoot…I can’t get in for an appt. until January. I’m not considered a new patient since I had a consult next year, to get an early appt. guess I will have nothing to tell unless I get off the wait list early…will let you know,
@yohoyoho Any idea if intertrigo* of the sagging upper eyelid can result in a medically necessary blepharoplasty or would a blepharoplasty only become medically necessary when a certain percentage of the field of vision is obstructed?
*Intertrigo is inflammation of skinfolds caused by skin-on-skin friction. … The friction in these folds can lead to a variety of complications such as secondary bacterial or fungal infections.
@YoHoYoHo Just went to the other doc yesterday to discuss my eyes. He also said that the part that folds down is related to my descending brow, however slight, and that a Blepharoplasty won’t work for that…that portion is due to the lowered brow from age. He said to lift my brows, which I did, and it disappeared. He said he really doesn’t like endoscopic browlifts much, and is going back to the regular. He explained in detail what would happen and I don’t think I am that bad yet to warrant something like that…plus the forever numbing feeling on top of my head. I guess I just don’t understand why an upper Blepharoplasty won’t work. Is the folded skin too high up?
I think I might try Botox to lift the brows. Not crazy about that, but if it’s the only option besides browlift I might. Just the thought of my skin being pulled back from my forehead makes me feel faint!
That’s helpful to me, conmama. The bleph may not hold if your brow continues to descend. Seems to be a matter of fixing the “right thing.” In my case, the specialist doc said the fold is not problematic enough to ask insurance to cover. Previously, a plastic surgeon/enhancements guy told me my brow muscles are too strong for Botox, that disabling them would be the wrong path,. Explore carefully.
Thanks @lookingforward …would never have considered that with Botox. I never jump into anything and I spoke with 3 doctors over the past 2 years.
