I am not a student, just a GT parent. But I know one senior who started out in BME and switched to chemical engineering and chemical engineering is a lot harder than BME. BME requires only one semester of organic chemistry, some mechanical engineering, some electrical engineering and physiology classes. It seems ideal for a premedical student. You will learn to problem solve
and also get exposed to how engineers work on prosthetics and artificial tissue research and other really cool research work. Also, I know a doctor in Denver who was a biology major at GT then got right into all her medical schools and got a great job. I think GT is good path to med school, as now many kids there want to go to med school? Not too many so you will totally stand out. You can always switch to chemistry or biology if you do not want to take the EE or mechanical engineering classes.
