Book suggestions? (Non-fiction history)

Halfway through Bonk. Still find it very funny. I’m reading some of the funnier passages out loud. (He doesn’t share my interest in sex so he doesn’t find them nearly as humorous as I do lol). What I particularly love about this book is that I know the vast majority of the things that she’s talking about (like, for example, the Kinsey experiments) but she puts such a refreshing commentary on it that it makes it seem like I’m learning about it for the first time. I sincerely wish I could write like she does.

Have to put it down for a little bit now while I chip away at my “required” reading list for the summer. I guess if I’m getting paid to read, I should probably do it… :stuck_out_tongue: First book up: The Middle Ground: Indians, Empires, and Republics in the Great Lakes Region 1650-1815 by Richard White.

@romanigypsyeyes, I’m delighted you’re enjoying my recommendation. Her other books are wonderful too.

And if you’re enjoying Mary Roach, try Sarah Vowell – e.g., Assassination Vacation.
