Bookclub Books

Our bookgroup gets books predominately from the public library bookgroup holdings,
We tend to read books from a different perspective culturally, we just finished, The Sisters, about theMitford family.
It was huge.
We are now reading The Last Brother, which is much quicker.

Do you buy the books or get them from the library?
I prefer ebooks, although I am going to try audio so I can do other things at the same time.
Ołder books are more likely to be available on electronics or audio, but not always.
We also have met in others homes, and when available watch the movie or mini series from the book, like Jane Eyre. & The Go Between.( with Julie Christie & Alan Bates, when they were at their most gorgeous- which was pretty gorgeous!)
We’ve read several on this list.

Potato Peel Pie Society is lighthearted, the Glass Castle, less so.
A book that is fairly new but I think would be good for discussion is Driving the Saudis, by Jayne Amelia Larson, who drove members of a Saudi royal family in LA.
We have also read Princess by Jean Sasson, which depicts life for women in Saudi Arabia. Quite different than in LA.
