<p>**Don Quixote USA **by Richard Powell is a much better book than Bananas by Woody Allen is a movie.</p>
<p>Same basic plot line, but I don’t think the book is credited in the movie credits.</p>
<p>a bit of thread drift, but I am still amazed that Pirates of Caribbean was based on one of the dumbest rides in Disneyworld. Great original movie, however I never got into the sequels. I never cared either way about Johnny Depp until I saw it & am now a huge fan.</p>
<p>My CA kids find it amusing when they talk about the Pirates movie and learn people did not know the ride. The first movie did a great job incorporating all the vignettes from the ride</p>

<p>Apparently the one in Disneyworld is just an abbreviated version of the original. It was never intended to be a roller coaster (the original plan was for a walk-through wax museum), so maybe that’s why you were disappointed.</p>
<p>They also released a movie based on the haunted mansion, btw, which was every bit as bad as my family expected Pirates to be.</p>
