Boston College for FREE? I mean, unless you are a multi multi millionaire, I think this is a no-brainer.
Thank you all for your thoughts and sharing your experiences .
I also shared the link with my daughter and she is definitely leaning towards BC now .
Youâre a nice parent.
My kid wouldnât be leaning.
Theyâd be shoved and might even fall down
That youâre allowing consideration is awfully nice of you.
Good luck to your exceptional student
Odd comment! I went to Georgetown and despite being an atheist I loved my Problem of God class and the theology requirement in general. I had numerous Jesuit priests as professors.
And, money is money. It all tastes the same
My kid is at BC, and they will be so sad when itâs time to leave. BC has the perfect location, because itâs beautiful, a little quieter, and there are trees (better air), yet itâs so easy to take the T in to town. I grew up not far from there, and Iâm always dumbfounded that people make a big deal about not being in the middle of town, where thereâs more trash, more noise, and crazy traffic.
Anyhow, the Gabelli scholarship is not just about saving money, the university really invests in that group of kids. She would have much more to write about on her applications to law schools through that program, than being one of the many normal undergrads at GT.
Finally, my child is not what you would think of as a typical BC student, but as they say, they have found their people. At the same time, they are a typical student: hard working, volunteers, participates. BC turned out to be the perfect fit.
Hey , my daughter received the Gabelli scholarship too and we committed a few days ago! She had some great other acceptance but the opportunities Boston College provides for these scholars is unmatched. Good luck in the decision making process and see on campus perhaps in the fall!
Just transferred to BC where I feel more in line with proper Jesuit values.
