CSOM at BC has an enforced grade curve. CSOM Establishes Guidelines to Combat Grade Inconsistency — The Heights
Speaking as a U of T alum and having taught there long ago, the courses in first year are hard and they don’t hand out A’s easily. But the percentage grade earned in a course will dictate the letter grade. There is no enforced curve. There is making the final exam easier or harder though.
Our whole family tends to be pretty darn serious in their academics and I have no doubt that kiddo would be too. Cheering on the sports teams and partying hard are not pros for a school.

Well, it’s official. And the answer is neither! Kiddo chose a school that is strong in his EC and in finance and is about the same cost as U of T. Originally, he had wanted to go to BC, but we got the financial aid results last week and it took him a while to let it go because of cost. He is still hoping that a job in his EC will pan out over the summer, but if not, off to Indiana U he will go.

Great choice as The Kelley School is a target or semi target for many IBs. School also produces really strong finance graduates.
Wonderful that he was thoughtful and ultimately found a fit, congratulations!!
If your son has further IB questions down the road please feel free to DM me and I will try to help. Wishing you and your family all the best.
