Boston College Waitlist 2024

Daughter got off the waitinglist for CSOM today. Sent in LOCI. 1490 SAT, 3.7 UW GPA

I’m really worried that the fact that I put “I will probably attend” will affect my chances of getting off of the waitlist. The only reason I put “probably” instead of “definitely” was because of financial aid. If financial aid was not an issue, I would definitely attend. Should I email my admissions counselor to clarify?

^^^ I am literally in the same boat @sopita . I put probably and wrote a note about how financial aid would be the only factor that would deter my enrollment. Now I am feeling regretful and wondering if I should have just put ‘definitely will enroll’ anyways…

I put definitely enroll and I haven’t heard back yet so I’m getting a tad discouraged.

Same here @zadria I have shown as much interest as possible but I guess they really don’t look at that. Hoping for another wave this week

Accepted to MCAS. Got an email. Wouldn’t worry so much about the portal changing. They will let you know. Still early.

Stats:
Wrote LOCI (about a page)
Act 30
GPA: W 4.54 UW 3.94
Bunch of Ec’s
Toured once

Ah we have very similar stats…I hope that more emails will be sent tomorrow.

Yeah I mean BC is likely gonna have to pull from the waitlist more this is just the first wave. I also put definitely will attend on the survey.

My Question is were people notified in a wave - or were people emailed from BC at different times?

I don’t think it’s helpful to just focus on so called “stats” that everyone is focused on. As I said earlier and please believe me, it doesn’t work that mechanically.

It would be helpful for the very few who have posted - and always remember this is not always accurate - to offer a different set of info to help define what part of creating an interesting and diverse class you will be filling. It will give a better sense of things for all that are waiting and wondering.

@danny201609 that’s fantastic news. Congratulations you sound like an awesome young man.

Btw. My adult EC is vp of the board of our states leading Foster child advocacy group. Focusing on opportunities and support for those aging out of the system.

We have never had a young person achieve at your level academically - ever. So proud of your achievement.

@emra20 I wrote LOCI, followed up w/ my rep twice, since being waitlisted.

I also had my college counselor at school call, which I am 99% sure he did.

@littlechef2002 thank you so much! I have done the same, but only submitted my LOCI and corresponded with my rep very recently, fingers crossed for the best!

Is it worth it to have my high school counselor write to/call BC?

Hi @privatebanker ! Thank you for your kind words. They mean so much to me and were super encouraging and motivating!! BC has been my top school since 9th grade and I was so happy I got in. However, I might not be able to go unless BC gives me lots of aid because I don’t have a cosigner which means I might not be able to take any loans since Im an independent

Is it true that if admitted off the waitlist, you’re gonna be put into a forced triple?
