I would venture there are pell grant families, AHANA and other specific qualities needed from each student to fill out the class
Hang in there. They are still working through the jigsaw puzzle and putting the pieces together.
And as I’ve said so many times before. Don’t compare each other. It’s not a list of who’s best or the best student. It’s a who’s the best fit for what BC feels they need.
Please don’t feel down. You may be more qualified than anyone accepted off Wl but are in a niche that is having very high admission deposits.

@user_488656 I don’t mind at all! I’m a Bio major in MCAS. And ill post some more info about myself in case anyone wants to know. I am not a Pell grant recipient, but I did apply for financial aid. I’m a Hispanic female and have reached out to my AO multiple times. I think continued interest is the most important factor, to be honest. When my AO called me, he said if he has a spot he wanted to give it to me since I have reached out and stayed in contact with him… and he gave me that spot today. I wish everyone the best of luck and don’t worry if you haven’t heard back (my portal has still not changed and I haven’t gotten the official letter yet).
@zaidria hi, congrats on your acceptance! When you checked in with your AO, what were your updates? Were they just check-ins or were you providing new information each time? And how many times did you talk to them between being waitlisted and now?
@emra20 Hi, Thank You! I’ll do my best to give a little timeline of when I reached out and what I said…
I wasn’t aware regional officers even existed until after I got on the WL. So I sent out my first email the day I was waitlisted (Late March). The purpose of my email actually had nothing to do with the WL. I was wondering if I could be considered as a transfer student because I did junior and senior year at a university near me. He finally got back to me and asked me to call him so he could explain.
Long story short he said I couldn’t be considered as a transfer, and that I have a better chance of getting off the WL anyway. We basically left the conversation at that and he told me to email him again at the end of April or the beginning of May to remind him of how interested I am.
So the second time I emailed was April 27 and I basically just reminded him of how I spoke with him over the phone and was checking in. He got back to me and told me he hasn’t forgotten about me and that he will reach out.
Finally, I got a call from him earlier this week asking about financial aid documents and then today I got a call about getting off the WL.
Sidenote: I did not email him my LOCI, instead, I uploaded it to the portal. However, in my emails, I did emphasize I was still interested. Also, I think it’s important to not bombard your regional officer with emails, but the timing of when to send them is important. I hope this helped : )
edit- My second email consisted of where I committed, but reinforced my interest to attend BC. No other updates in my emails.

@college132213 I got a call 2 days ago asking whether I’d attend or not if I were accepted from the WL, then a call yesterday congratulating me on my acceptance, then an email today
It said on the letter the portal will be updated tomorrow

Got off waitlist as well!! It came by email with a electronic copy of the letter. Portal wasn’t updated so it’s prob going to tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!!
