Boston University ED Class of 2023

I am hoping that it’s not true but at the same time I wish we all can get in

My Sat is 1480, 680+800 Toefl 101 from an international high school in China
My weighted GPA is 3.9/4. Although the school does not provide unweighted GPA, it is too bad, because I got a bad grade in precalculus, but later 6 AP Courses in grade 11 helped me to increase weighted GPA a lot. And I did well in calculus AB in grade 11 and got a great score in calculus AB and math level 2.
I only have 2 AP got 5, which is Calculus AB and Microeco, others are most 3.
I have 800 in Sat2 Math level 2 and 750 in Sat2 Physics.
Common App ( my counselor thinks it is great, it is about how I helped others to pass an exam after my Physics teacher was fired by the principal and how I achieve personal value, but I am not so confident about the essay)
and Why BU is about the course and programs in questorm school of business relates to my future goal and the activity I have done in High School.
Activities are not so impressive, school captain in the school soccer team, and play for the Chinese High School Soccer League (not famous at all).
Honors are quite normal
I did not apply the ED for Northeastern is because my speaking score is 1 point lower than the requirement, and I also apply Case Western, Villanova, OSU, Indiana (accepted to the business school), Miami, and lots of UC Schools, if these schools do not accept me, maybe I have to apply universities in other countries.

Man… You are really qualified… well lets wish for the best! Although we all applied ED, there are other colleges out there, and we dont know if the “trend” is 100 percent sure.

wait both people who have it without early decision are international students idk if that could affect it in some way?

are there any international students who have thank you??

LOL I mean there have only been two international students and we can’t really assume that, but I really have a gut feeling of the trend being true

On last year thread, there has been an international student having thank you so you will be fine. Good luck!

LOL, I plan to think about my ED 2 school right now, and may I ask do u guys know if the EA School could be changed to ED 2 school.

I’m an international student, and I have thank you. Well, I’m a US citizen, but I live in Dubai and I have for the past 8 years

Both of you guys also applied to Questrom, which is one of the toughest schools at BU which could play into account

You can apply ED2 to a school you EAed

I applied to questrom and have the thank you message! does anybody know ED questrom acceptance rate?

You will not be considered international. My experience with my son who is a US citizen. So they will expect you to have a high SAT in English and will not consider Toefl

Remember your not applying as international pool when Chinese. Your applying in the Chinese pool and I expect that you will need 1500 plus in SAT to be accepted. Both Chinese and Indian students apply in a very competitive pool.

@carl0001 Ahh well I’m coming out of the private school ‘ivy league’ in NYC if that helps lol

Also yes @ the convo above- you can change your EA app to a school to an ED2 if you contact their admissions office and notify them.
SN, I agree that no one should feel discouraged esp. if they applied to Questrom since it’s definitely much harder to get in to!

I understand that, I am in a small city from, so my Sat and Toefl are quite good compared to my classmates, but in other cities like Shanghai and Beijing, they started their English Language education in elementary school, so they normally have scores above 1500 and 105+Toefl. So the competition overall in China is so drastic

Does anyone know the acceptance ratio for ED1? Like how many students normally make it and how many get deferred? Also is it possible that mostly all of ED1 applicants gets accepted?

@JacobMitchell111 I heard the acceptance rate is 30%. But that might be for ED overall.

Did anyone else realize that if you have the “thank you” message they want you to verify your address while if you have our records without ED it doesn’t seem that they ask you to verify your adress
