@maya54 more importantly why do some people think this requirement is “wrong” especially since they are not using schools or other tax funded meeting spaces.
@3scoutsmom. It’s not a matter of " wrong" to have it be a requirement so long as it’s not in the schools ( though scout groups keep asking every time the scouts allow in a new group). But techiemom says her son is an atheist and an Eagle Scout and I was asking how he obtained that level in good faith.
As I stated above, I don’t think it is “wrong.” The BSA has every right to impose a religious test if they wish.
I just think it is foolish and small minded, given that religion per se apparently plays virtually no part in scouting activities.
