<p>My daughter applied for one this summer and did not get selected. She had contacted a professor who said she could work for him this summer, but his department did not have money for paid internships. He recommended she apply for a fellowship and supported her application with a letter. Another classmate of my daughter also applied and was not selected. I do not know the numbers involved, but I would say that it is probably fairly competitive knowing my daughter’s background.</p>
<p>My daughter lives off campus, so she will just stay in her apartment, but she did a summer language program between freshman and sophomore years and lived in the Towers. We paid board for her to stay there.</p>
<p>DD is a rising senior.</p>
