Brackenridge Summer Research Fellowships

VERY hard. Last year about 90 people applied for 20 spots. Also, if you are a science-researcher, it will be MUCH harder, because more science researchers apply than humanities, and UHC likes to balance the Bracks (which I think is unfair, but whatever).

Whenever you want. Generally people live in sublets off campus.

From what I’ve heard, there are weekly meetings with your advisor as well as all the other Bracks where you go over your progress and hear what other people are doing. Other than that, it’s whatever time schedule you and your professor (advisor) have worked out. Probably a 40-hour week.

For intensive research projects, summer is nicer since you can devote the whole summer to conducting your research. In the Fall/Spring, you have to balance research AND classes. Also, Fall/Spring will be new for next year I think, so no one can really talk about it right now, as it’s never happened yet.
