Then your conclusions are formed on specious anecdotal incidents and not on facts. You know nothing of what the Admissions staff is considering in their decision, and have not read the recommendations nor applications from all of these students, so you have no access to the relevant facts.
Cite your sources for this contention, and sorry, anecdotal incidents (“I know someone who…”) won’t do. I’ve been a hiring manager, and I have always been impressed by an MIT resume, regardless of the color, shape, or gender of the person presenting it.</p>
<p>While I am not an expert on the matter, I believe Caltech may look somewhat differently at the numbers on an application when making admissions decisions. Perhaps you’d be more happy there than at MIT. (Sorry, Gracie, not meaning to send trouble your way! )</p>
