<p>Uh huh…and every generation or so one European country would overrun another until WWII exhausted every European nation and the U.S. and then-USSR forced them into more or less co-existing. Fifty years of relative tranquillity in Europe is an eyeblink compared to what went on before and yet you paint it as ever being so.</p>

<p>I don’t know who you are, but if (as I sense) you are a disgruntled MIT reject maybe you were rejected not because of your race and gender but because of your apalling ignorance of history and of the human condition. MIT may have a reputation as geek friendly, but I bet it’s friendly toward geeks who didn’t sleep through their history classes.</p>
