<p>It really couldn’t hurt, provided that you’ll have enough space in your room for it. I didn’t have a TV freshman year and I survived, but I liked having one my sophomore year. I didn’t pay for cable because I tended to be ready to watch TV at like 11/midnight, far after things aired live. I also left my Wii home after winter break because I was barely using it, but I really liked having my DVD player, especially in the winter…December-March was pretty brutal this year, and hopefully this winter will be much better, but you/your roommate/your friends may be spending more time in your room than you think :)</p>
