Broadway Shows

Count me in as an addict. It is the one ridiculous splurge in my life. I loved Wicked. I want to see it again. We are going on Tuesday to see A Little Night Music with Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta Jones. I will give you a review afterwards.

I HIGHLY suggest the Hair revival or Next to Normal

Both are BREATHTAKING

Two current B’way shows that I’d recommend: Memphis and South Pacific. Loved them both. However, if you haven’t seen Wicked, go see that before anything else.

We just got tickets to the new Addams Family musical that someone mentioned. Preview shows start 3/8 & the official opening is 4/8. Tickets were (to this sheltered DC resident) crazy expensive – $200 orchestra seats on weekdays; $250 [I think] on the weekends. We got 1st Mezz. instead. The set/effects/cast are supposed to be quite good although, as already mentioned, the story needed some work & they hired some ‘fixer’ (who did the same thing for Spamalot, I think I was told) to work on it after the pre-Broadway run in Chicago. Might be worth getting the tickets now before they get super hard to get.

I just saw the West Side Story revival and I highly recommend it. The two female leads are outstanding. Part of the show is in Spanish… which seems to make sense and worked well. I had discounted tickets through Playbill.com-same offer through Theatremania, or Season of Savings.com-they all work well.South Pacific is outstanding although Kelly O’Hara left the run earlier this year. Unfortunately the revival of Ragtime didn’t last, although it had done well at the Kennedy Center but my d and I really enjoyed it when we saw it before Christmas.
