[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): varsity cheer co-captain, NCA all-american cheerleader every year, NHS president, Chess club, French club (we teach ourselves b/c we don’t have the class), and won a lot of UIL events like computer science and ready writing. We only have a total of about six clubs at my school, so there wasn’t a lot to choose from.
[] Job/Work Experience: Worked at a medical supply store, which was a really difficult time lol
[] Volunteer/Community service: Wrote for a Houston newspaper for free
[] Summer Activities: summer at brown!!! Yale future scholars institute…
[] Essays: Oh my goodness. My essay was about how I was casted in a commercial and how it made me realize that what I define as success is different than what I have been taught by every one, and my love for just learning. It was deep, and I’m so proud of it.
[] Teacher Recommendation: One was basically my transcript and the other was about my activism on campus after a new principal came in and fired all of the AP teachers.
[] Counselor Rec: Two sentences long, and one sentence didn’t even have punctuation. She’s so uneducated it hurts.
[] Additional Rec:
[] Interview: Went amazing. The interviewer really liked me and told me I was perfect for Brown.
[] Supplementary Material (portfolio, etc.): n/a

[ b]Reflection**

[ul]
[] Strengths: I think it’s my way of thinking. I’m just a really good fit for Brown. I’m very relaxed about academics and I don’t worry about grades or anything because when you learn that just comes with it. I think Brown really noticed that about me.
[] Weaknesses: SAT and AP scores.
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I think I was accepted because of my essays. They really conveyed my passions for learning and Brown.
[] Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: University of Texas… I was waiting to hear from Brown!
[/ul]

**General Comments: ** I would have never thought I’d get in!! Don’t compare yourself to others. If you feel like the universe is telling you that this is your path, then don’t let anything stop you from going down it, especially lack of confidence.
