I checked my portal and found this written:
“Applicants may view admission decisions beginning at 7PM ET on March 26, 2020.
Whatever the decision, we thank you sincerely for having applied to Brown.”
Is it a negative sign or what? I am worried. Do you guys have it? Lemme know.
@user_778131 True. But Brown is definitely not looking to give clues about everyone’s decisions ahead of time, so I’m pretty sure everyone has it. And a message like that would make sense because Brown knows they’re going to be rejecting well over 90% of us.
I don’t have it. My email said, “Admission decisions for Regular Decision applicants to the Class of 2024 will be available online Thursday, March 26th beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.” I doubt this means anything, though.

@User7122001 Normally a lot of candidates are deferred ED (around 70%), but this year I read that it was around 20%. With last year’s 63% deferral rate, 7% of deferred students were accepted. So your odds probably go up to around 20% (yes, there is definitely something wrong with this assumption, but if you want a rough estimate then I’m going with 20%)
re: access to course catalog. I know you want this to give you hope. But it does not mean anything-- it is this way every year. Just based on having a temporray user name… given to applicants, summer students, and others. Do not read into this.
For those who applied FA. If you go into Banner self service, then click on “Request Loans or Accept Loan Offers” What does the page display? Thank you.
@mhop72 “All students must accept or decline their offered loans online. Select the Accept Award Offer tab to make loan borrowing decisions.
The availability to accept or decline student loans occurs after May 1st. You will be contacted by the Loan Office and given instructions to complete this process
Current award information is not available. Please review requirements to determine if any items remain outstanding. If you recently submitted a loan request, award information will be unavailable until that request is processed. This request may take two to three business days to be completed.”
U guys think everyone has this? The wording seems very suggestive to me, especially the “You WILL be contacted…” But still I think its highly unlikely that they’d give a hint like this.
