@Tylerrellick I’m really not sure. That could be the case but I haven’t yet seen anyone who has applied for financial aid and isn’t seeing it unless I’m missing something. I also haven’t seen anyone comment who did not apply for financial aid and is seeing something, which is my situation.
I did not apply for financial aid and do not see anything I was freaking out lowkey but seems like its the same for everyone who did not apply for financial aid so that’s good
For those of us that applied for financial aid, we can see a total family responsibility amount but can anyone see the actual award or aid package to be provided by Brown?
I can see mine and so can some of my friends who applied for aid, but others cannot (who did apply for aid). Do we have any inkling of what this might mean?
@nervousnj2024 does the aid package provided by Brown appear under the Total Estimated Cost section?
I can log into Banner and view the cost breakdown and EFC and such but don’t have a number listed for scholarship and grant support…either I didn’t get aid (even though my EFC is much less than the Estimated Cost) or I was deferred/rejected. Or it could mean nothing and everything will update on Thursday. I guess only time will tell
nope
Not saying it means anything but there are people on reddit saying they/people they know that applied with financial aid aren’t able to see anything. So it could mean something but it might just be a mistake!
Maybe it has to do with where we are checking on our phones or a laptop. When I go on a laptop it pops up but not on my phone. Might be a factor
Is someone else no longer allowed to log in to the Banner Self-Service?
i can still log in to the banner self service. but i also dont have anything listed under grants
who knows how accurate this is but fyi my friend who goes to brown (who applied for aid) just told me that this happens every year and that last year she knew she got in because she could see her aid package before the decision date. she also said that there is nothing there until decision date for those who did not apply for aid.
Lowkey wish I never even saw that banner thing bc now I’m gonna be disappointed when I get rejected lmao
Idk, there just seem to be way too many people who are able to see their aid (among those who applied for finaid). From my observation, not that many people who are active on CC who gets accepted to their early decision college and are mostly rejects/defer. Right now, there are way more people who can see their financial aid package/efc than those who cannot.
i feel like a lot of people can see the aid status but no one on here has said they have a number for the amount of scholarships and grants from brown. Can anyone see an amount there?
We might all just be lucky and have gotten in bc why would they show you family contribution if they aren’t accepting or deferring you.
I’m pretty sure this doesn’t mean much since the admissions office is separate from the office of fa–and sadly, everyone seems to have the same notification and I don’t think that those who didn’t apply for finaid/don’t have the banner aren’t accepted lol
(funny story I thought I had to dish out 80K (100K salary) but I realized that number was for net cost lmaoo)
I cannot see an amount in scholarships and grants. Unless someone actually says that they see an amount for scholarships and grants, then no conclusion can be drawn with us just having access to the EFC info in Banner.
I’m just saying don’t get your hopes up too much because you’ll crash harder if you were to get rejected/deferred. Someone else just told me that getting financial aid breakdowns before decisions wasn’t that rare and did not guarantee admission. For a fact, I know someone who got a STUDENT portal account created by CWRU because they needed some clarification with financial aid, and got rejected.
@accipitri lmaoo what if it’s because he needed clarification with fa that he got rejected (<- joke)
