Brown Student Taking Questions

This is the thread that started my posting on CC.

Though I generally prefer bumping old threads there is a lot of information in here that is out of date. Just a warning for other who come across it.

I’m going to start a new one, then.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1070541-current-brown-students-taking-questions.html

Current students, could you PM me if you’re willing to post on this new thread?

yeah, like the chem info. you have to pass the placement exam now. but some of the other stuff here is current

I just started my first year at Middlebury College (I was accepted ED) but I am realizing it is too rural and too small and too homogenous for me. I am from Rhode Island and Brown was always my close second choice and now I think (know) that is where I belong. I am planning on remaining enrolled at Middlebury College through the first semester and apply to Brown ED in November. If I am accepted, I will withdraw from Middlebury. If rejected, I will stay. Basically, I am wondering if I have a good shot at getting into Brown or if I would be wasting my time trying to get in while juggling college work.

I got a 2260 on my SAT - 690 (Math), 770 (Reading), 800 (Writing)
I received my IB Diploma
I was class president
I was captain of both my school and travel soccer teams
I was in National Honor Society, student government, SADD
I did volunteer work in my community
I have a summer job
I did a 10-day medical camp out of Boston before my Junior Year in which I was selected to travel to Brown’s Warren Alpert Medical School where I got to work with cadavers, etc. (I want to be pre-med)
I am captain of my intramural soccer team in college
I am taking a full course load of college credits at the moment

Just trying to get a sense of my chances and whether or not I should apply.

This is in an old/restarted thread. Start yourself a new thread re this question for you,(just cut and paste) so you will get responses, rather than “losing it” here.
