Anyone have portal changes? Like new Financial Aid tab?
Does anyone’s portal say this:
Regular Decision, Transfer, and RUE Applicants: We are continuing to process application materials for you. Please continue to check back on this site for updates to the status of your application. Should you have updates to your personal information, please email us at the address listed below.

above the Application Summary?
@birdiegirl99 I have that too, I don’t think it means anything because it also addresses transfer students.
Mine does and that is definitely new. before it just said we are continuing to process…Uh oh…wonder if that’s a bad sign…like…you’ve been deferred and this is now your portal. @birdiegirl99 and @DuelingGloves - is that new for you as well?
Anyone have a new financial aid tab?
@nero64 I don’t have a new financial aid tab, but I’ve had one that’s consistently been there since I first logged into my portal. Also, I’m pretty sure that the RD/transfer message has been there for me since the table disappeared
@nero64 Same as you- I didn’t apply for financial aid and now have one. @birdiegirl99 - did you apply for it? Also have the new thing above the App Summary as you have. Anyone else who did NOT apply for FA: Do you now have or don’t have a FA tab?
Hey everyone, I’m currently a Brown freshmen. Last year I went through exactly what you are going through right now. I EDed Columbia, was deferred, then accepted through the regular round. But I chose to go to Brown, because through the college process I learned things about myself that I hadn’t known before. At the time of the deferral, I was furious with myself and everyone involved, but a semester into Brown I realized that that deferral was the best thing that could have happened to me. Guys, I know it’s easy to believe not getting in the school of your dreams feels like the end of the world, I guess what i’m trying to say is that it’s not. You are strong and will persevere, and you will be happy whichever school you end up choosing to go to. Best of luck to you.
I always had financial aid tab… I do not have Proxy.
This made me feel so much better. thank you!
@anponpon - Did you apply for FA? I have always had Personal Info / Student / Proxy - but I did Summer@Brown and have the same Banner ID as I did then, so I’m 99.9% sure that is why.
why do i only have a student tab on my account there’s no proxy or personal info or anything
@philipxjm what led you to choose brown over your original top choice? Just curious
i originally wanted to go to columbia because i thought i loved it, but i later realized that i would not be happy there with its core curriculum. I wanted to explore and take advantage of brown’s open curriculum.
@parisgeller - I could swear I saw your name on the thread last year. Or maybe I’m reading too many threads. Are you a Brown student?
@littlemousling - I think that is what most people have. I have other stuff from Summer@Brown. Did you apply for FA?
@horselover7 no i’m not need-based. i really hope the tabs don’t indicate anything because some people have had the extra tabs since they first signed into their portals…
@horselover7 nope im a 2021 ed applicant
@littlemousling. I think people that had all of the tabs were either summer at Brown or perhaps had asked for financial aid. I don’t think there are any new people so far with the new financial aid tab so that’s what’s making me wig out a little bit I’m afraid that I was put into the deferral file already because I never asked for financial aid. You and I are both getting ourselves too worried. It’s probably like everything else and none of the portal changes mean anything. I know as a fact that all of my other tabs are from my previous summer program because it even has things about the summer program inside them
@horselover7 I did apply for financial aid and I did not do summer at Brown. Always had personal info/student/ fin aid. Has not changed since I first got it
@nero64 it is new for me too. I still feel like it doesn’t mean much, if it was specifically just for you to obviously indicate that you were deferred, it would not also address transfer and RUE applicants. I believe it to be a general message for anyone using the portal.
