It’s almost time, I’m so nervous
Does anyone NOT have the “View your admission decision” message?
Hang in there! I’m hoping for the best for each one of you.
My kid is super anxious too. She is only marginally reassured by my repeating to her what I have said many times before - She is a competitive applicant, has worked VERY hard to get where she is right now, and it says something AMAZINGLY good about her that she stuck her neck out like this. But reaching for the stars can have that unfortunate down side…you won’t always get there, at least not on the first attempt.
Each one of you should feel the same way - accomplished, hopeful, and confident moving forward. If the outcome is not as you had hoped, you KNOW that you will regroup, figure out next steps, and move forward.
Onward and upward.
Good luck from Northwestern 2021 ED thread. No matter the results, know that you are amazing and you deserve everything!
Good luck from the Dartmouth ED form!
3 AM here right now! Gonna get some sleep. Good luck everyone!!
since theres only 30 mins left to go, I thought I’d remind everyone to post on the results thread afterwards: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1944026-official-brown-class-of-2021-ed-results-only.html#latest
Let me just preface my comment by saying that, like most of you who have shared your thoughts already, I applied ED; Brown is truly my dream school. However, I know how competitive admissions are and am aware of the fact that I have absolutely no control over whether I am accepted, rejected, or deferred at this point.
That being said, I want to make clear that no matter what happens, I am confident that many of us be successful individuals after college, regardless of the institution we attend. No, a rejection letter is not a sign of the apocalypse. We will ALL get into college somewhere and enjoy some amazing experiences.
I’d like to remind all of you, by the way, that an Ivy-League education does not necessarily equate to tangible success in the future. Obviously, we would love to get into Brown; some things are simply not meant to be. Some people attend community college and end up making millions. Some people study at elite institutions and eventually earn less money than their “academically inferior” counterparts.
I guess what I’m trying to say is… this decision is not a referendum on your existence or future success. And NEVER underestimate anybody. If you’re nervous, that is normal, but remember that everything will be completely fine in the end.
Good luck to everyone. I really mean that.
Peace.
@wilddddpupilll Thank you so much. I needed that.
@tku980 You’re very welcome. Best of luck, my friend.

This will likely not help most of you much at all in terms of the increased levels of anxiety you’re currently experiencing, but, like I said, no matter what happens, God has a plan for each and every one of you.
Remember that.
