***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

@risubu @matrix007 Thanks! It’s been a good end to a long year :D

@risubu I’m not sure about A Day on College Hill. It sounds awesome but I live in the west and I’m already flying around a lot (lol I’m actually on a plane from New York now). What about you? Are you going?

So is everyone who got into PLME planning to say yes to Brown? It’s a tough choice…

I am 99.9 percent sure I am going to brown. Of all the programs I applied to, I got the best financial package from Brown. Plus, PLME is probably the most prestigious program ever.

However, I am biased because Brown is my dream school and I have been in love with it for years. It’s the only program that will REALLY lets you study what you want.

First, congrats to all.
Secondly, has anyone heard from Duquesne/Temple?

I havent heard anything from W&J/Temple, either! What the heck!

Temple Med is taking unusually long–nearly 2 months–to get back to us regarding interview notifications. Even the pointpersons of the program don’t know what’s going on. At this point, no one knows what’s happening. Maybe they’ll send out admissions results without an interview? That’s highly unlikely. I’d say expect interview notifications in the next 2 weeks asking us to go for interviews on short notice.

Got into Rensselaer/Albany Medical College combined med and UMKC medical program!!! I have the difficult decision of deciding between the two. Any suggestions? Please advice!

Does UMKC require the MCAT? I know UMKC is 6 years, but it also depends on your preference of location, Upstate NY or Missouri?

Neither of them require the MCAT. Location isn’t a huge deal for me!

Got into south alabama’s EAP program. Anyone else?

@daisy1111 do you eventually hope to go into academic medicine or do you want to be a pure clinician?

Yeah, I haven’t heard from W&J either.

If you guys had the choice, would you pick W&J/Temple or Villanova/Drexel? (I’m trying to see if I should declare my choice now or wait a bit)

What’s the harm in waiting?

I am plan on being a pure clinician

Then I don’t really see why you would want an md with research distinction? iirc umkc focuses on producing pure clinicians

Yeah, but I am wondering which will give me a more solid foundation to get a really good residency match

@BombingRange- to my knowledge, Nova/Drexel is the better program. I’m just wondering if I should even bother waiting for W&J (I want to start making decisions soon!)

@Ssekar
Are you OOS or instate in Alabama? And what are ur stats please?

@tamtiger I’m in state

Just curious about you guys’ motivation for going into medicine. Mine is mostly for an upper middle class lifestyle/steady job/make my parents happy.

@asianandproud to be honest with you I hope you are joking because to me that is sickening. That ruins the integrity of medicine. A doctor is more than that he is a healer. If you dont love being a doctor and thats your only motivation I beg you don’t be a doctor because with that attitude you’ll be a terrible one
