@sanguinee, so it looks like you will go to USciences. I think it is a good decision. Good luck and I wish you success!

Picked ucsd med scholars over plme, hpme and a few ivys, not an easy last two weeks of decision making! But it was great to have the school choices regardless. Thanks to all the helpful insights over the years everyone and wish all future aspirants the best. With early planning, hard work and researching the top schools/programs, i believe it’s possible to get accepted to selective programs, though still somewhat of a crapshoot. Ps: no I was not accepted to Stanford ;)

@Stanfordready
Hi
Congratulations on your achievement and good luck in your future. I have a question on your personal essay. Did you eventually end up writing about your research or your heritage for your common application? Thanks.

Congrats stanfordready on being able to make a choice!

Can you please post your stats on the results thread.

Congrats everyone

stanfordreadu, uscd is very good. that is just for California residents right?

UCSD/UCSD is for California residents. Caltech/UCSD could be anyone.

@saxplayer123 great! Who’s ur friend? I might have met him during the interview process!

@stanfordready congrats! it would be awesome to have those amazing options :)

So for the USciences/TCMC program, they said they only had 1 student make (The program is only 2 years old) it to the applying level and was wait listed by TCMC… they accepted 18 hoping to enrolled less than 7. Doesn’t really seem like a safe program to me.

How many already enrolled out of 18?

only 8 in the actual program now (4 soph, 4 juniors)

They said they always over accept but never reach 7 or more

I would think it is 7 each year and they admitted 18 this year? So only 2013 admittees count for you.

@texas yeah, that’s correct.

@sanguinee.

What does your heart tell you? Emory or USciences/TCMC?
There is no right or wrong choice. Pick one and don’t look back.

From what I’ve been able to gather from your posts and our private message, you have all the qualities of a caring and compassionate doctor. Add to it, the persistence and perseverance that you have demonstrated during the college and combined program application process. You’re still standing … with confidence … and a sense of humor … despite all those denials.

You should be proud of yourself … I’m sure that your parents are of you.

@sanguinee- I agree its a tough choice and I am a big fan of the BS-MD programs but it is a new school and its hard to turn down Emory with Money. Agreee with DualDegreeDoc whichever you choose will be great.

TCMC is a new med school and I had some anxiety about it initially, especially when it is a community-based med school. However, after seeing their first match list, I was rather surprised and their students actually matched to reasonable programs and specialties.

I’m going to choose Emory. Thank you @DualDegree; you’ve been a great source of support and advice during this tedious process to me and other students.

@sanguinee, good that you have made up your mind. You will do well irrespective of where you go and most importantly, now you have opened up your options. Good luck and work hard.

Thanks for all your help and advice @IMGDAD

For anyone that wanted to see my stats, they’re on the results page.
