*** BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2014***

.

@minion17 @shadow522 They contacted me for an interview exactly a week ago. Interviews are three times a week, so they may just be filling in spots before they contact more applicants?

@starlight27 thank you for clarifying! My paranoia has been getting worse as April 1st draws nearer

@thejerseygirl ohhhh ok, thanks!(: that helps a lot. i would be out of state for NJIT/NJMS, so perhaps they are also contacting those who live nearby first? anyways, thank you ^^

Just got back from my NJMS interview. I honestly loved NJMS itself, the environment is so energetic and lively because it has a university hospital. My tour guides were also very enthusiastic and well-informed which added to the entire day. The interview was very relaxed and friendly, there were no difficult ethics questions or anything else to be worried about. Just show your genuine love for medicine and you should be fine. If anyone has any specific questions, let me know. I’d love to help.

@thejerseygirl Good luck and you are awesome for sharing that with everybody.

Hey guys. I have my interview for the GWU seven year program tomorrow. Does anyone know how many people are typically chosen for an interview? I know that around 700 kids apply and 20 are ultimately chosen, but I’d like to know how many get an interview.

Also, any general tips? I’m super nervous!

^Oops, meant to say my interview is Monday, not tomorrow.

waiting to hear from hpme <.>

@closertothestars I didn’t apply to the GWU program myself, but I think most interviews follow the same format. My best advice to you would be to PRACTICE. Even if that means talking to yourself in the mirror or asking your parent to pretend to be an interviewer. Unless you happen to be a motivational speaker, your words sound a lot different when you speak them as compared to the way that they sound in your mind. Also, make sure you have some answers prepared for the basic questions like “why medicine”,“why the 7 year program” and maybe read up on ethics and healthcare policies. Depending on your interviewer, anything can come up.

GW/GW last year had 850 applicants, interviewed 50, and accepted 10.

For those who applied to South Alabama COMEAP, nearly 40% will be given interviews. They are giving 40 interviews out of about 100 applicants for 15-20 seats in the medical school. We should be getting our notices next week.

Has anyone received any word back from Illinois Institute of Technology’s BS/DO program?

@zryzor I didn’t even know about that program

@Midhelper haha not many people do

@thejerseygirl What other questions did NJMS ask? I have my interview on the 21st

Does anyone have any advice for the GW 7 year interview?

barely any people got GW 7 year interview so i doubt people here would have much

@asapaj5 Congrats on your interview! What program is it for?
