You’re most welcome and best of luck to your son.

@starlight27 Sorry about Stony Brook, it happens. 25 students out of around 400 applicants get an interview and around 12 are accepted after the interview, now notified by email rather than FedEx.

Unfortunately, daughter got rejected for Cincinnati DAP. Hope others here have better luck!

@TheBombingRange-- thanks for the info
@SLCMom- so sorry to hear about DAP. Best of luck with the other programs!

@starlight27
Thanks!

@SLCMom your daughter was one of the friendliest and outgoing that day - I am sure she did fine in her interview but remember interview is just a portion of the points - they do look at the rest of the application.

Accepted to NYIT BS/DO! Still waiting on Geneseo/Upstate as my last chance BS/MD but i’m happy nonetheless!

@Midhelper
Thanks!

Has anyone decided if they are going to attend the PSU/Jeff program? And if so, are you going to do 6 or 7 years?

@lari123- It really depends on where else I get in. Have you committed? Also, which day are you going for the accepted students day? If I do decide to go, I’ll probably start on the 6 year track (meaning I would do this summer session) in order to keep the option open to me and then see how feasible it is with the new MCAT and curriculum further down the line. How about you?

@coloredenigma - congrats! good luck with the remaining programs

@lari123 - my decision point is still at least 2 weeks away. If i go, it will be in the 6 year program. After talking to Jefferson students at the interview day, it seems 6 years is doable without being superhuman.

@HickoryDoc- I agree that 6 years is attainable for students at the moment, but it really seemed like they were pushing students to do 7 years because they’re adding a new section to the MCAT that wasn’t on it before. Hopefully the 6 year option will remain available!! What other programs are you looking at?

@coloredenigma- Congrats!!

Penn/State Jefferson doesn’t give scholarship, does it?

For PSU, I would probably go for the 6 year and then if I need more time, I would then switch to the 7 year track. I’ll make my decsion after I hear back from all my programs and after PSU’s ASD.

@Late2Party- Very little, if any. Generally, no.

@MedicalBoy- EXACTLY my plan. #twinning

Does PSU/Jefferson require MCAT?

@texaspg- Yeah. Currently they ask for a 30, but that’ll change for our year.

@coloredenigma When did you apply to NYIT by? I still didn’t get a regular college decision…

@lari123 I haven’t officially committed yet, but I am pretty sure I will be going to Penn State/Jeff and do the 7-year program (6 years is just too quick for me).

@Late2Party Penn State does not offer scholarships for this program (a little odd, but you do get 2 semesters off of tuition & in-state gets a huge chunk off). According to someone who works with my dad who knew someone who did the PMM program, one person out of every class at Jefferson gets a full-ride based on need/merit, but I am not sure if they have or still do this, just going off what someone who I never met said.
