I think he murdered them, but I also believe the police tainted the evidence and probably planted the glove, because of their wrong doing a guilty man ended up being acquitted. Such a shame, I remember seeing him play football and he was wonderful to watch.
And let’s not forget that he lost the civil suit that the Goldman’s filed against him, and he also spent nine years in jail for the whole Las Vegas debacle.
I’ve no love lost for OJ. At all.
What I do regret is that he was a role model for so many and totally not worth it in any way, shape or form.
I remember watching the White Bronco slow roll across southern Cal. It was a Friday night, a friend was visiting from out of state, and I was babysitting for my nephew so we ordered a pizza! Turns out it was a record night for ordering pizzas, like close to a Superbowl record. Proud to be part of a record like that.
When I moved to California, my cubical window overlooked intersection of the I-5 and The 405, where the helicopters started following the Bronco. That was 16 years later and everyone was still talking about it. “That’s where it all started…”
That Friday night Bronco chase was our (H & I) first night in our first apartment together. We got married the following week. we settled in best we could with little to no furniture, turned on the TV… and that’s all there was on to watch.
But that’s what I remembered most from that time. I was not a news junkie back then. Most of my news came from my MIL’s People magazines that she’d give me once she was done.
We ordered pizza that Friday night too! We were home with D1 who was 2.5 and of course newborn D2. We were sitting outside on our deck, but could see the tv inside which had the low speed chase.

Expert opinion favors the interpretation that the criminal case was lost in voir dire, which suggests that hypothetical alternative juries would have voted to convict after hearing the same evidence. Ironically, it’s alleged that the lead prosecutor in the case, Marcia Clark, declined an offer of assistance in selecting the jury.
Thought this was interesting …

Wow. I am not surprised OJ was a serial abuser nor that USC paid off the victims.
I guess his daughter knew the truth…
I have somewhat mixed feelings about the case. On one hand, you have someone who most likely got away with murder. On the other, perhaps it helped a large fraction of society better understand what it might feel like to be cheated by the justice system because of your race.
The most negative aspect seems to be that it confirms that money and celebrity trump justice. Today that almost seems a given.
I’m very very sad about the huge flaws TFG has exposed in our judiciary but proud of the judges, prosecutors, jurors, witnesses and others who are doing their best to uphold their oath of office, despite great personal danger to themselves and loved ones.
A long and sad fall from grace for a man who had once been a football icon. I do imagine he committed the murder.
I wonder if he had CTE.
I’ve always suspected that he did have CTE.
Doesn’t change that he was also likely a narcissistic psychopath
My guess is he did. So did Aaron Hernandez. So did Phillip Adams.
Still doesn’t give them a hall pass for murder
That is a riveting show. So well done.
Here’s an article from People about the gloves. Everything to Know About the Infamous Glove in O.J. Simpson's Trial. I thought the mistake was the prosecution allowing a situation where OJ could attempt to put the gloves on in front of the jury. OJ had complete control over the process and he had acting experience. Wasn’t there a receipt for his purchase of the gloves, or am I confusing that with the Bruno Magli shoes? https://footwearnews.com/shoes/mens-footwear/oj-simpson-shoes-bruno-magli-1202691446/
If you didn’t live through it, it’s hard to appreciate how the OJ trial gripped the nation. All these years later so many memories are flooding back. Remember Kato Kaelin? Remember the flood of criticisms of Marcia Clark’s appearance and hairstyle? I was listening to Preet Bharara’s podcast and he made the point that with the Trump trials we don’t (so far) have cameras in the courtroom so everything is filtered through news outlets or social media commenters which put their own spin on the testimony or arguments. With OJ’s trial everyone could watch it all directly and come to their own conclusions. On the down side, Judge Ito didn’t control his courtroom well probably in large part because the lawyers and some witnesses were all playing to the cameras.
I was with our decorator on the way to the mart when the verdict was announced. Can still remember it clearly.
As for CTE, quite possible, but wouldn’t explain the assaults at USC that were described in the tweet posted above.
So clearly remember watching the “entertainment” on tv. D had just come down with hand, foot and mouth disease and was in awful pain. Strong painkillers. Spent most of the day cuddling her on the couch, watching tv. This was the only thing on most channels that day!
