I am not sad that OJ is dead. The world is now a better place since he’s no longer in it.
I remember the white bronco chase, we were at dinner at our favorite seafood restaurant and we had just picked up my parents at the airport. We were sitting at a table by the bar and this whole thing was on all the tvs above the bar.
My sister and her husband have some longtime friends who are French, and this whole thing was going on right when they moved to the US. When they got their TV hooked up, all the stations were showing the white bronco chase. They still laugh about it today. When they went back to visit family in France for Christmas that year, all their French friends and relatives were asking, “what’s the deal with OJ Simpson?”
When I found out OJ was dead my reaction was “oh well”. I smiled when I told my H. The crime scene photos from that butchering were in the tabloids - I can never unsee it. It was a merciless frenzied attack. He was a horrible person.
I worked at the time less than a mile from where the murders occurred and sometimes drove by the exact site in my during my daily commute. Well before the Bronco chase we knew something was up when a ton of helicopters started circles and hovering around the location the bodies were discovered.
No love for OJ (who was almost certainly guilty) and I can believe USC might have done this. But I am skeptical this post is real, despite the traction its getting, unless a real person backs it up with credible evidence. Fake account. And the story just rings so false and cliche. Some short term student admin has her boss (who doesn’t smoke but did that day, LOL) confide a massive scandal to her (and she in disgust changes her career path; this is sappy stuff). Why? Makes no sense. He didn’t have to tell her anything, even if they did want her to sign the supposed NDA. All she knew was a couple of people came in for a meeting. And anyone willing to destroy their integrity (if he had it to start with) by doing what the boss allegedly did isn’t going to risk that some NDA is all that is keeping a student admin from exposing him. Silly. And the whole reason for saying it now also makes little sense. USC would have made the NDA protect them and wouldn’t lose effect with OJ’s death. So if the goal was to risk breaching it to tell the truth, it would have been a lot more powerful to do so years ago. Why take the risk now? And if it’s no longer valid, why stay anonymous? Don’t buy it. Perhaps will be proven wrong, but doubt it.
I’m wondering how much of an estate OJ had at death. He had moved most of his estate to real estate in Florida because he had the homestead exemption (no one could execute against the estate). I think he owned foreign real estate. I’m not sure if he could have transferred all that to his kids and just kept a life estate?
It’s not like they didn’t know that some day he’d die, so why not transfer everything when he could? I know that doesn’t mean there won’t be a fight over it.
Weird story about this:
