Bullet Journals and Planners

@HImom I use one of the smaller Day-Timer loose-leaf refills for pretty much everything. Their binders aren’t heavy-duty enough for my really enthusiastic use, though, so I found a place that sells really beefy aluminum ones in every size and configuration imaginable.

Getting back to your question, I don’t use heavy-duty paper, but I do have plastic or card stock dividers at pretty frequent intervals and have heavy plastic things at both the front and back.

OK, thanks. Will have to browse around and figure out what may work. Electronics have their limitations. I think pen and paper has a place in my life as well.

I have been using the bullet pages of my MayNotes planner more the last two years. I’m tracking the books on my Kindle this way and my gratitude list. I’ve been using it to track flex spending for several years. I do keep those little books. They don’t take up much room.

I got a bullet journal yesterday from Walmart to try it out. No idea there were so many variations! Got two—a small one that fit it outer pocket of purse so it goes with me (seemed to suit my lifestyle better) and a larger one which seems to be what the majority were—and nicer than the small one with more features but maybe too big—but for 2 bucks on clearance I took it home.

Actually eons ago I had a very similar system. I should’ve written a book it appears. They stopped making the tiny binders I used at the time so it fell apart when my binder did.

So far, I don’t seem to be using it as intended although I do recognize it’s highly customizable so “as intended” may not be the right wording.

What I’m loving is that I come across all kinds of things I want to do/think about/pursue later and I love the index and the collections (one page for books I want to read, one page for doctors I need to research, etc.). So I now have a place to put pieces of info that I come across at different times but all relate AND with the index, I know how to find it quickly.

I think I’ll like the future pages where I can make notes about what I want to do in future months. Someone suggested here to use a post it note for the little daily to dos (stop by the market, p/u the dry cleaning) so I switched that part of my to do list and it works well. I’m trying to keep a list of other to dos in the journal. I have yet to put anything next to the individual days of September so I don’t think I’ll use that set up for October.

Jury is out as to whether this is the right system for me. If you have (more) ways you love this system and it’s helped, I’d love to hear.

OK, you all have convinced me to try it. I have lost track of a few things for clients recently so I have ordered an inexpensive one from Amazon to try the concept.
