Business admin at cal poly SLO vs econ at UCD

I am a business man and I would be wary of choosing a business school based on the beauty of the campus alone. Look for employment rates and average salaries upon graduation. Average pay for the business school straight out of undergrad is $52,000 not bad for the worst recession in living memory.

I pulled this from the web site: “Our graduates are in high demand in the job market, with 56 percent reporting job offers before graduation. Within three months of graduation, 82 percent had jobs, and 9 months after graduation, 97 percent of graduates had jobs. Of those reporting, 90 percent found jobs in their related field of study. Hundreds of firms recruit and employ Cal Poly graduates each year. Depending on the status of the national economy, Cal Poly hosts from 300 to 600 different employers each year through its on-campus recruiting program and job fair events.”

My nephew is going to Rutgers for business. New Brunswick, NJ, talk about a hardscrabble dump of a city to live in for four years. However, it is also one of the best undergraduate business programs in the United States with a history going back to colonial times. His first impression was totally negative. Now it is on the to of his list. Employers do love SLO.
