Business Week Online Rankings

dcfca: were you talking to me? i never said their ranking system was accurate for undergrad or MBA. i said they were manipulating the rankings to make profit.

How does CMU get a C for job placement when it has a 55k average starting salary, 11k more than Indiana grads? CMU also is ranked #2 behind wharton for academic quality, but obviously that doesn’t matter.

Also, they only look at in-state tuition for public schools, even though some pay out of state. In-state schools get an automatic boost by that.

I JUST DONT GET THIS!
CMU, the one school I chose as an example for schools that got ripped off by BW, has an academic ranking of 2 and is tied for first in starting salary. Aren’t those the two most important factors that business students are worried about? But it manages to get 16th.

How is Howard’s placement though?

apparently very good. especially with elite places.

it’s probably the top students who go to Howard that get recruited. It’s an easy way to help make sure banks are pretty diverse.

I want some diversity action, crap even though I’m black when I look up scholarships and crap on the UNCF, etc… you have to go to a HSBCU. Thats crap.

Oh well…IU will have to suffice. But, IU has a lot of scholarship opps.

Yeah, but I put money on it that the people who do get recruited are pretty smart. I would say they are definitely at the level of recruits from other schools and it is unfair to say that they use it for diversity. I had a frined this year who turned down Cornell AEM so he could attend Howard, simply because he wanted to be with a school that would allow him to learn more about his culture and background. There are a lot of people like this at howard.

MsSales, you should see if you can apply for that Goldman Sachs summer program.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m certain they are bright. You have to be bright to get an Ibanking job (for the most part).

That rising sophomore thing? They deactivated the link.

yeah the rising sophmore thing.

See there is no link.

SEO does come on IU campus though, and a couple of people in the IU Kelley Workshop were also in SEO, I saw two people who were in SEO both got full-time jobs, one with J.P Morgan, and the Other was Goldman Sachs I believe.

yeah that’s weird. at my school you fill out an application and drop it off, so maybe that’s how it is?

Whats SEO?

yea, probably, but my school ain’t recurited, so I can forget about that I guess.

SEO = Sponsors for Educational Oppurtunity. An organization for minorties, helps with career placement they place somewhere like 90% I think, some sick number.

yeah i’m hoping to get into SEO, one of the few times being an asian is accepted by those things.

One of the girls who was excepted was Asian, she had sick numbers though.

Place 90%?! Too bad I cant get in…discrimination.

Trust me they are more than qualified. Like 3.9s and crap.

Here is one.
