<p>My son wore the same b&w peace button (probably dating from the 60s) as part of a halloween costume - he was a ‘hippie.’ All his middle-school friends wanted one of those too. Different generation, different war, same issues. Sigh. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose – or something to that effect…</p>
<p>A frivolous, unofficial rectangular patch I wish I had bought back in the early 70’s (the war-Vietnam obviously- was winding down so I missed most of the protests and such) on the UW-Madison campus: “UW tray team-Ski Bascom Hill”. Wish I had decided the small charge was worth it since I still remember it. It was illegal to take trays from the dining halls back then, now the dorm brochures have a picture of traying on one of several convenient hills…</p>
