D lived in a dive with some friends. They each had a bedroom and liked the location but weren’t that fond of the dive and all that came with it. One of the guys said he was going to buy a new house and would they like to rent from him? D was happy to move, even though the new place was kind of far away from where they had been living but brand new. Several years later, she still has her own room in the new house and a few of the others moved with her and are also renting. The owner only raised their rent like $50 or so and they are all happy it’s brand new. The owner says D can live there as long as she likes. The owner had a kid and got married but D gets along with the new spouse and baby. D has bedroom on bottom floor and everyone is in rooms on 2nd floor. Everyone is pretty happy, as far as I know. Believe everyone pays by Venmo or similar.
It’s not co-owning but they are still room mates and living together as they did before one of them decided to buy a place. So far, so good.
