<p>Getting through security at RDU has never taken me more than 15 minutes even right before Thanksgiving. More often, it’s about 5-10 minutes. I typically leave Duke 60-70 min prior to my plane’s departure time as the ride is about 20 min. With a cab, though, they can be late, so obviously you have to adjust your times accordingly. Leaving more than 2 hrs ahead of time seems major overkill to me, though, unless you really like hanging out in airports. RDU is small and it doesn’t take long to get to your gate.</p>
