@CalDud Yeah I totally agree with what your saying. I have always been a little skeptical about counselors when it comes to STEM majors. Its like they have little knowledge on how to guide them and are not aware about important thinks they should have done before leave community college. Im glad to hear your friend is working hard and succeeding in his major. He must have had a jerk counselor when he was told that. Even a 2.7 can get you into a solid csu for engineering. I have been told to reconsider majors by a few counselors but just ignored them because I know I do have what it takes and I have improved (went from a 2.4 to a 3.07 in 2 semesters). As for the golden four courses, I will definitely have all those done. Honestly my GPA doesnt worry me as much as my 12’Ws on my transcript. I saw a counselor today and she told me I still have a shot at the cs program at CPP. Cant wait to submit my app June 30 and wait for their response.

Yea, my major is not impacted at CPP, so i might have a shot. I have a feeling cs at CPP will soon be impacted as well. CPP’s recognition for technical programs gets more and more popular by the day, and soon will include cs.
